In a few days from now I am traveling to London to celebrate my Mother’s birthday. She is about to turn 92, has enjoyed a full and interesting life so far, and is still going strong.

When she was 70 she announced to the family that, despite no previous experience, she wanted to write a novel. Perhaps you can imagine our reaction? ‘Sure! Great idea, Mum. Of course, on you go.’ We couldn’t really imagine that she would get herself organized to make it happen.

But she could imagine it.

In the end not one, but four, of her novels have been published. You can buy all of them on Amazon if you’d like to have a read.

The point of this story is that if you set your mind to it, you can do just about anything you want. The obstacles may seem daunting, the reasons for giving up or not starting many, and the nay-sayers will be all around you.

But if YOU decide you can achieve something, then you can.

What would you like to do, but aren’t doing?  Writing out your resumé and looking for a better job, pushing through real change in your organization, making it to your kid’s soccer practice each week, or telling someone how you really feel?

Imagine it, start it, do it.

You can.
